Get the Materials
You will need an all purpose-glue (UniBond 100% Power Glue), tape measure, metal ruler, pair of safety gloves, pencil, jigsaw, sandpaper, cloth, brush, paint tray, some varnish, pillow, two clamps and wooden board.
Draw the pieces
Design your DIY pet bed according to the size of your pet and preferences. Using the ruler and pencil, draw the different pieces on the wooden board. Draw two 60 x 12 cm pieces, two 40 x 12 cm pieces, one 60 x 40 cm piece and the four legs.
Cut the pieces
Secure the wooden piece to the table with the two clamps. With safety gloves intact, cut the different pieces with the jigsaw.
Smooth the pieces
Sand all of the edges with the sandpaper and then clean them with a moistened cloth. Your pet will most definitely appreciate the smoothness!
Glue the box
Apply all-purpose glue (e.g. UniBond 100% Power Glue) to the bottom board and stick them on to the walls one at a time, locking them in position for 15 minutes. Let them dry overnight. Maybe consider giving your pet a little sneak peak of his or her future home!
Glue the legs
Turn the box upside down and stick on the legs of the bed by applying an all-purpose glue (UniBond 100% Power Glue) and pressing them against the exterior of the bed base. Clean off excess glue with a moistened cloth and allow to dry overnight.
Varnish all the surfaces
Take the tray and brush and varnish all surfaces of the pet bed.
Add a pillow
When it dries, it's time to add a nice pillow and unveil this inviting new DIY pet bed to your deserving pet! What a lucky animal! And before playing with him outside, make sure to repair the garden fence!
