Get the Materials
You will need wallpaper, wallpaper adhesive (e.g. Solvite So Easy), a brush, a container, a ruler, scissors, a cloth and a scraper.
Measure and cut the paper
Measure and cut the paper you are going to use to cover the inside of your drawer. Make sure to get water-permeable wallpaper to ensure proper drying later on.
Check the right proportion
Check the right amount of product needed depending on the amount of paper you will use.
Mix the product
Add the wallpaper adhesive (e.g. Solvite So Easy) to a clean bucket of cold water and stir for 15 seconds. Stir again after 2-3 minutes. After that, the glue will be ready to use.
Apply the adhesive
Before applying the product, make sure that the wooden surface is primed (protected against water penetration). Then apply the glue over the paper and fold it to distribute the mixture thoroughly.
Let it dry
You will notice that the paper softens (wait a few minutes) when the glue is ready to set.
Place and smooth the wallpaper
Place the paper carefully and then smooth it using the cloth. This will help to avoid air bubbles and will make the paper adhere perfectly to the drawer.
That’s it! It’s ready!
As soon as the product dries, the DIY drawer liner will be ready to use! Make sure your drawer knob works perfectly; if it needs a fix, here’s a really easy way to do it!
