Install and seal a shower cubicle
Changing the look of your bathroom is faster than ever.
Learning how to install a shower cubicle may seem complicated. But the truth is, you can do it without having to use a drill. Follow these simple steps to build your own shower.
WHAT YOU NEED
- Construction adhesive (e.g. UniBond One For All)
- Kitchen cleaner
- Paper towel
- Cutting board
- Cutter knife
- Cartridge gun
- Waste box
Get the Materials
You will need construction adhesive (e.g. UniBond One For All), kitchen cleaner, paper towel, a cutting board, a cutter knife, a cartridge gun and a waste box.
Clean the surface
To ensure effective product adhesion, clean the surface where the product will be applied.
Prepare the product
Take the cartridge and put the tip onto a stabilised piece of wood and cut it. Then screw the nozzle onto the cartridge, place it on the piece of wood and cut the nozzle, leaving a diameter of around 6 mm.
Apply the product
Apply beads of construction adhesive (e.g. UniBond One For All) and avoid flattening them by pressing too hard. Using the same speed and pressure, apply the adhesive evenly over the area.
Glue the shower cubicle to the floor
Place the shower cubicle on the floor and press gently.
Clean the tiles and the wall
Before applying the tiles to the wall, make sure you clean them and the wall with a cloth.
Apply the product to the tiles
Apply continuous beads of construction adhesive to the tiles and avoid flattening them by pressing too hard.
Glue the tiles to the wall
Glue the tiles on the wall and press gently. Check the final position to make sure they are aligned.
Prepare the adhesion on the metal shower bar
Now clean the metal shower bar. Toothpicks can be used to speed up the curing of the construction adhesive (e.g. UniBond One For All). Soak them in water before placing them on the metal bar.
Apply the product
Apply construction adhesive on the back of the tiles you are going to glue on the shower cubicle. Place them and press gently.
Stick it to the wall
Stick the metal bar to the wall and press gently.
Smooth the product
Smooth the construction adhesive with a moistened finger or a smoothing tool.
Stick the tiles to the cubicle
Apply construction adhesive to the back of the tiles you are going to stick on the shower cubicle. Place them and press gently.
Install the shower doors
To finish, insert the shower doors onto the metal bar.
