Install a kitchen sink
Install a well-sealed kitchen sink easily.
Silicone for kitchens (e.g. UniBond Triple Protection Anti-Mould Sealant), Stainless steel kitchen sink, White spirit, Masking tape
A cloth, Drill, Drill bit 12mm, Jigsaw, Pencil
With a pencil, mark on the countertop (made from wood board with melamine sheet) the location of the kitchen sink. Place the drill with a 12mm bit on top of the drawn line and make a hole. Insert the jigsaw in the hole and cut the countertop following along the drawn line.
Clean around the countertop hole and the backside of your kitchen sink with white spirit in order to remove dust and grease. You want your sealant to be applied in a clean area to ensure its endurance.
Insert the sink into the cut whole and apply masking tape on the countertop around the sink to protect the countertop from excess silicone.
After applying the silicone (e.g.UniBond Triple Protection Anti-Mould Sealant) around the complete kitchen sink.
Place the sink in the hole making sure the front of the sink is parallel with the front edge of the countertop. Adjust it if necessary and tighten the retaining clips. Then remove the masking tape from the countertop.
Let it dry for 24 hours and then you can use your kitchen sink safely!
