Build an extendable shoe rack
Store your shoes in a custom-made shoe rack that will grow as your shoe collection does.
Why buy a shoe storage solution that won’t fit into your space, when you can build a DIY shoe rack yourself? This project allows you to make it just the right size – and extend it as your shoe collection grows.
WHAT YOU NEED
- Construction adhesive (e.g. UniBond No More Nails Invisible)
- 1 litre white paint
- 15 cardboard tubes
- 1 paint brush
- 1 paint tray
Get the Materials
You will need some cardboard tubes (make sure your shoes fit inside them), a paint brush, white paint (or any other colour) and construction adhesive (e.g. UniBond No More Nails Invisible).
Paint the tubes
Start by painting the tubes with your favourite colour. You can also decorate them using vinyl, silk paper or photographs, or you can even decoupage them. Make sure the tubes are completely dry before proceeding to the next step.
Glue the tubes together
Glue them one by one with a fine cord of a construction adhesive (e.g. UniBond No More Nails Invisible). For the base, place as many tubes as will fit in the space reserved for your shoe rack. You can build it in a pyramid shape, a pile, or create your own personalised composition.
As many rows as you need
You can adapt the number of rows to suit your own needs. If your shoe collection increases, so can the number of tubes.
