• Build a greenhouse

Build your own greenhouse and plant your favorite flowers at home.

Construction adhesive (e.g.UniBond One For All), Sealant (UniBond Universal Sealant), A 20x40x2400 mm wooden molding, 3 glass pieces 940x340 mm 3 mm thick, 2 glass pieces de 340x340 3 mm thick, 2 hinges, 2 handles, Masking tape, White spirit

Pencil, Nylon brush, Jigsaw, Solvent, Sandpaper, Cartridge gun, A cloth

  • Step 1:

With a pencil, mark out the following dimensions and cut the pieces with a jigsaw:

    - 6 pieces (A) 1000x20x40 mm with a 45° cut

    - 14 pieces  (B) 400x20x40 mm with a 45° cut

  • Step 2:

Before applying any adhesive, make sure that all the surfaces to be glued are smooth by sanding every corner with sandpaper

  • Step 3:

To assure a better adhesion, clean the pieces to be glued with a cloth damped in solvent.

  • Step 4:

With the cartridge gun, apply construction adhesive (e.g. UniBond One For All) on the edges of pieces A and B in a line shape. Then, glue them to make a wall frame.

  • Step 5:

Once all pieces have been stuck together, remove excess adhesive with a damp cloth. Apply masking tape to fix the frame, this will help the frames to be kept in place while the glue gets completely dry. After 6 hours, remove masking tape.

  • Step 6:

Glue the glass pieces with a sealant (e.g. UniBond Universal Sealant) on each one of the frames you created, applying the adhesive with a cartridge gun in the inside part of every frame. Then, position the glasses pressing gently against the frame. Apply masking tape to fix the glasses to the frame. After 6 hours, remove masking tape.

  • Step 7:

First glue one of the large walls with a small one with montage and sealing adhesive, applying the adhesive along the two pieces that will be glued together. Repeat the process in the same way until closing the box with the two large and the two small walls.

  • Step 8:

With the remaining large wall, place it as a cover and drill one hinge at each of its edges.

  • Step 9:

Screw the handles on the outside of the ceiling; you will use it as a handle to open your greenhouse.

  • Step 10:

After protecting the handles and the glasses with masking tape, use the brush to varnish all the outside surface with exterior varnish to avoid the wall to crack due to the weather conditions.

  • Step 11:

Let the varnish dry and it’s time to place some nice plants on your greenhouse and see them grow!
